Mix ¼ cup of packed brown sugar, ¼ cup of reduced-sodium soy sauce, 2 teaspoons of sesame oil, ½ teaspoon of chili flakes, and ¼ teaspoon of ground ginger.
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Stir-fry 3 minced garlic cloves for 1 minute.
Add 450g of ground beef. Break it up and cook for 3-5 minutes, until browned and at least 160°F / 71°C. Drain excess fat.
Add the sauce and 2 sliced scallions. Simmer for 2 minutes. Sprinkle with ¼ teaspoon of sesame seeds.
