Steps

  1. Peel 3 medium potatoes and cut into ¼in / 5mm cubes. Cover with water in a saucepan and add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar. Boil for 10 minutes, until tender but firm; drain and cool.
  2. Meanwhile, hard-boil 3 eggs, cool in ice water, and peel. Dice the eggs, 3 cucumbers, and 225g of cooked ham.
  3. Combine the potatoes, eggs, cucumber, and ham with 3 tablespoons of chopped fresh dill and ½ cup of finely chopped scallions.
  4. Whisk 8 cups of cold water, ⅓ cup of sour cream, 2½ tablespoons of white vinegar, and 2½ teaspoons of salt until smooth. Stir into the chopped ingredients.
